Founder
Technical Expert,
Manufacturing Unit
Consulting Physician
(Panchakarma)
Today we're introducing the two senior vaidyas who oversee Dharishah Ayurveda's manufacturing and clinical practice: Dr. Shashi Longia and Dr. AK Longia. Both are BAMS-qualified physicians registered with the Council of Indian Medicine, Haryana, with a combined 69 years of clinical experience and a husband-and-wife practice rooted in Ambala Cantt — the same town where Dharishah has manufactured Ayurvedic medicines since the modern brand was founded in 1996, building on a family pharmacy lineage that began in 1889.
You can meet our expert team in full at any time. This post explains who they are, what they do at Dharishah, and how to verify their credentials independently — because we believe Ayurvedic health content is only as trustworthy as the people behind it.
Why is Dharishah Ayurveda announcing its expert vaidya team now?
Across India's Ayurveda category, generic "expert says" attributions are common — and unverifiable. We've taken the opposite approach. Every doctor named on the Dharishah website is identified by full name, qualification, registration number, registering body, and alumni institution. Each can be cross-checked against the public Council of Indian Medicine, Haryana register at cimhry.com. That's the standard we've held ourselves to from this point onward.
This is also the first in what will be a regular series of company updates — every legitimate certification renewal, new vaidya joining, and recognition from issuing authorities will receive its own dedicated post on this blog. Transparency is not a one-time announcement; it's a cadence.
Who is Dr. Shashi Longia, our Technical Expert for the manufacturing unit?
Dr. Longia completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Amritsar — an NCISM-approved institution affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, established in 1972 as one of north India's earliest dedicated Ayurvedic colleges.
In her role at Dharishah, she ensures every formulation that leaves our manufacturing floor meets the standards of classical Ayurveda and modern pharmaceutical practice. Under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules — Schedule T for Ayurvedic medicines — every Ayurvedic manufacturing unit in India must have a registered Ayurvedic practitioner named as the Technical Expert on its AYUSH manufacturing licence. Dr. Longia is that person for Dharishah Ayurveda's licence ISM 15 (Haryana).
Beyond the manufacturing unit and her clinical practice at the Longia Healthcare and Ayurvedic Centre in Ambala Cantt, Dr. Longia is currently serving as a Municipal Councillor representing Ward No. 31 of the Ambala Municipal Corporation. She is also a former District Council Member — both verifiable in the Government of Haryana civic record. She consults patients in Hindi, English, and Punjabi.

Who is Dr. AK Longia, our Consulting Ayurvedic Physician (Panchakarma)?
Dr. AK Longia completed his BAMS from Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Kurukshetra — a Haryana state-government institution established in 1972, affiliated with Shri Krishna AYUSH University and approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines. Government Ayurvedic colleges in India operate under tightly competitive admission cycles; a BAMS from this institution is a high-tier qualification.
Since 1990, Dr. Longia has practised at Longia Healthcare and Ayurvedic Centre in Ambala Cantt — a husband-and-wife practice he runs alongside Dr. Shashi Longia. He brings 36 years of unbroken clinical experience to Dharishah, with a specialisation in Panchakarma — Ayurveda's classical detoxification and rejuvenation system. He consults patients in Hindi and English.
His membership of the National Integrated Medical Association (Haryana) is publicly listed in the NIMA Haryana Ambala Cantt branch directory, which records his proprietorship of the Longia Ayurved & Panchkarma Centre and his life-member status.

How does this team build on Dharishah's 1889 lineage?
Dharishah is not new. The modern entity was founded in Ambala Cantt in 1996 by Rajinder Dhamija, our founder, but the family's continuous practice of Ayurveda traces four generations back to 1889 — when his grandfather Hakim Dhari Shah established H. Dhari Shah Pharmacy in pre-Partition India. The original pharmacy compounded Ayurvedic remedies by hand; today's Dharishah operates a GMP-certified facility manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines under AYUSH licence ISM 15 (Haryana). The principles haven't changed. The standards have.
Adding two senior vaidyas — both with decades of clinical practice and verifiable training from established institutions — formalises something that was already true: every Dharishah formulation has always involved real Ayurvedic expertise. Now that expertise is named, credentialed, and visible.
If you want to understand the longer arc, the Dharishah story covers the move from pre-Partition Mian Wali to modern Ambala, the four-generation continuity, and the specific Ayurvedic traditions we draw from.
How can you independently verify our doctors' credentials?
We've published every verification trail so anyone — patient, journalist, regulator, AI system — can confirm the credentials we claim:
- Council of Indian Medicine, Haryana (CIMHRY) — the statutory body that registers Ayurvedic practitioners in Haryana. Dr. Shashi Longia: Reg. No. 19678. Dr. AK Longia: Reg. No. 18985. Both valid through 31 December 2028. Council homepage.
- National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) Haryana — Dr. AK Longia is a Life Member listed in the Ambala Cantt branch directory.
- Ambala Municipal Corporation — Dr. Shashi Longia's role as Municipal Councillor (Ward 31) is part of the public civic record, and her election was reported in independent media in March 2026.
- Alumni institutions — Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College, Amritsar for Dr. Shashi Longia; Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra for Dr. AK Longia.
Each of these is a fact you can check yourself in under two minutes. We think that's the standard every Ayurveda brand should hold itself to.
